About This Piece

The base of this sculpture is made from an oak branch. The tree had fallen on the train tracks and was removed and pushed to the side. There were several years in a row when caterpillars from gypsy moths ate all of the leaves from the oak trees in the area. It caused a lot of damage and killed many of the oak trees.

The birch bark is from a fallen tree near the Swift River. The piece of driftwood was collected on a trip to the coast of Maine. The small piece of thread used in this sculpture came from a sewing kit I received from my grandmother.

Thank you for taking an interest in this piece. I really appreciate it. Linda, Bob, Tina, and Louise are the first four pieces I have ever placed in a gallery, and they are really special to me.
